Manicure

What is a Manicure?

A Manicure is a professional service that best cares for skin, hands, and nails. It consists of a hand and nail soak, nail shaping, cuticle removal, and a massage, finished with either a high or low shine buff, typically for our male clients, or a splash of colour.

How can I best care for my Manicure?

Be sure to gently and thoroughly dry your hands when washed, and regularly hydrate with our deliciously silky-smooth Argan Oil Lotion. Daily application of our recommended, synergistic blend of natural oils to skin and nails will help to keep them looking healthy and strong. And remember, nails are jewels, not tools!

How long will my Manicure last?

A manicure will require regular maintenance every 2-3 weeks. If your chosen finish was completed with one of our professional nail varnishes, then it is likely you will choose to rebook an appointment approximately 7 days later for a fresh application of colour, or for a simple colour change. Doing so will extend the life of your Manicure.

Gel Polish Manicure

What is a Gel Polish Manicure?

A Gel Polish provides the look of nail varnish but with the hard wearing performance of a gel, and a promise of long lasting nail colour with up to 2-3 weeks of flawless wear. With zero dry time and a mirror shine finish, there's no worry of accidentally smudging your nails, or leaving imprint marks from your bedding. It is the ideal treatment for both hands and feet.

How often will my Gel Polish require maintenance?

A Gel-Polish Manicure will require regular maintenance every 2-3 weeks. If your Gel Polish Manicure was first applied by us, then removal of your exsisitng colour is removed at no extra cost.

Acrylic & UV Gel Enhancements

What are Enhancements?

Enhancements are artificial nail coatings designed to lengthen, strengthen and change the structural shape of natural nails.

How often will my nails require maintenance?

Your nail enhancements will require an enhancement rebalance every 2-3 weeks, (1 week for nail biters). However, this can vary from client to client based on natural nail growth and client lifestyle.

What if I break a nail?

If a nail is accidentally broken within 48 hours of receiving your treatment then we will be happy to repair it for you free of charge. Contact must be made to our reception desk within that time frame.

Pedicure

What is a Pedicure?

A Pedicure is a professional service that best cares for skin, feet, and nails. It consists of a foot and nail soak, nail shaping, cuticle removal, foot exfoliation, and a massage, finished with either a high or low shine buff, typically for our male clients, or a splash of colour.

What type of shoes should I wear to my appointment?

If your pedicure service is being completed with the use of one of our professional nail varnishes then we advise easy slip-on footwear which exposes all toes. You may choose to arrive in enclosed shoes and leave wearing the appropriate footwear. Should you choose to upgrade your service to a Gel Polish Pedicure then you needn't worry about footwear due to it's zero dry time.

Note: Additional service time may be required when upgrading your service.

Should I remove my current nail coating before arriving at my appointment?

The removal of professional nail coatings should only ever be performed by a fully trained, qualified nail professional. Should you require this additional service then please call us to notify us as additional service time may be required. For the health of your natural nails and the longevity of your chosen nail product, please do not attempt to remove it yourself.

Microblading

Click here to be taken to our Microblading Aftercare Advice Guide

What is Microblading?

Microblading is a semi-permanent make-up treatment for the eyebrows. A technique of inserting cosmetic grade tattoo pigment into skin after the creation of tiny, fine, incisions. Hair strokes are positioned in a way that resembles the look of natural hair growth for perfectly shaped, natural-looking eyebrows. Help camouflage missing eyebrow hair, create fuller, thicker eyebrows for sparse or naturally fair hair all without the need of make-up. This is an ideal treatment for people with conditions such as alopecia, cancer, and trichotillomania.

How should I arrive at my appointment?

We would like you to arrive having drawn on your desired eyebrow result, and with no additional make-up so that correct analysis of your skin type can be determined.

Are there different colours available to choose from?

Yes, there are many different pigment choices, one’s in which will be confidently picked and blended to best suit and match your skin type. This is discussed in detail during your consultation.

Does Microblading hurt?

Microblading has been described similarly to the feeling of a scratch A little discomfort should be expected, however, a numbing lotion is applied to the area prior to and during the treatment to help alleviate discomfort. We are happy to say 100’% of our customers return to receive their top-up 4-6 weeks later.

How can I best care for my newly Microbladed eyebrows?

We strongly advise the area is cleaned every 2 hours for the next 48 hours with sterile water, a clean cotton pad and clean hands. Avoid touching the area. Do not pick the area. Avoid direct water via shower spray. We recommend dry healing with a small amount of Vitamin E applied sporadically throughout the week should the skin appear dry or become itchy.

When should I return to receive my top up?

Your colour-boost appointment will depend on your healing process. Typically a colour-boost is performed between 4-6 weeks later. Please contact us should you feel you are ready for your top up.

I have had previous PMU (permanent make-up) can I have my eyebrows Microbladed?

Yes, you can.  If you are unhappy with your previous PMU and require correction work or simply a fresh set of Microbladed eyebrows, please get in touch.

What is Spray Tanning?

Spray tanning is a sunless solution sprayed onto the outer layer of the skin, providing the skin with a gorgeous, natural-looking, artificial tan designed to last between 5-7 days.

How can I best prepare my skin ready for my Spray Tan?

Methods of hair removal should be performed 24/48 hours prior to your treatment. Skin must be heavily exfoliated 24/48 hours prior also, paying special attention to drier areas of the body such as the neck, elbows, knees, ankles and any other dry areas. Skin must be heavily moisturised 24/48 hours prior to receiving your Spray Tan. Any tinting such as brow or lash tinting must be performed before and not after your Spray Tan. On the day of your appointment, we ask that you wash using a PH balanced cleanser and NOT to apply moisturiser, deodorant or perfume. Should you arrive wearing any of the three previously listed - do not sweat it! We have a professional cleanser designed to remove and prepare the skin prior to spraying.

How will wearing moisturiser to my appointment affect my Spray Tan?

Moisturisers can act as a barrier which can prevent the tan from developing into its full-colour potential, thus reducing the lifespan of the tan.

What should I wear to my appointment?

We ask that you wear dark, loosely-fitted, full-body clothing, and your choice of clothing to wear when being sprayed (should you choose to remain covered), a pair of flip flops and perhaps an umbrella too, just in case it rains!

What will I wear when being Sprayed?

When receiving your treatment you can wear whatever makes you feel comfortable. Some may choose to wear a dark coloured bathing suit, others a bikini or just bikini bottoms, others choose to remove all pieces of clothing. Ultimately the choice is yours, however, upon your first visit, we will always offer you the choice of disposable underwear.

How long does a Spray Tan take to apply?

The application itself will take only minutes! Regular customers are in and out within 20 minutes, but, we like to book out a 30-minute slot for this service.

When can I wash off my tan in the shower?

We recommend that you wash your express spray tan after 2-4 hours or 8-10 hours for regular 6-14% spray tanning, to get the best results.

Help! I watched my tan wash down the drain...

This is what's known as the colour guide, and will be washed off after its 8-12 hours development period, or its 2-4 hours if you choose our Exposed Express convenient tan, revealing a gorgeous, natural golden glow beneath.

How long should my Spray Tan last?

Expect between 5-7 days wear of your Exposed Spray Tan. However, this can be extended with the daily use of Exposed Extender.

How can I prolong the wear of my Spray Tan?

Extend the life of your Spray Tan with Exposed Bronzing Mousse; a professional must-have beauty product. HAIR REMOVAL

What are dermal fillers and are they safe?

The type of dermal fillers used here at Privé Salon is made up of a substance called Hyaluronic Acid. This is a naturally occurring substance found in the human body. Over time, the Hyaluronic Acid will slowly break down and the treated area will revert back to its original form.

How soon can I fly after being injected with facial fillers?

You should allow 7 days for the tissue to settle and to allow for any bruising or swelling to subside before flying. A minimum of at least 48 hours should be adhered to, as the altitude can cause further swelling. Should a complication arise, your aesthetic practitioner will be on hand to help assist you and resolve the matter.

Is there something I can do to help reduce swelling and bruising?

Yes! Apply a cold compress. Doing so will cause blood vessels to constrict thus reducing blood flow and fluid build-up to the area in question. This can help to minimise or even prevent swelling or bruising.

Arnica Flower has been used for hundreds of years and is known for its fast healing properties and bruise relief. It is often used as our patient's number 1 favourite home-care topical remedy. Click here to be taken to our online store

When will I see the final result?

The effect of dermal filler is instant but can take up to 1 week for bruising and swelling to significantly reduce, and 2 full weeks to determine the first and final finish.

How long will the effect last?

Dermal fillers can last between 6-12 months with various determining factors. Ones such as the type of filler used, the number of treatments performed in a specific time frame, your metabolic rate, just to name a few.
